Client was involved in negotiations for inconvenience payments between the fishing industry and the principles involved in an offshore construction project. A settlement figure was agreed by part of the industry but not accepted by the remainder. We assisted in negotiations resulting in the remaining fishing operatives accepting the original offer. We drafted the contracts between the parties (one principle, the consultant and 109 fishing operatives).   We were involved in subsequent ongoing minor disputes as between the parties. Furthermore, there was a further dispute in connection with the supply of guard vessels. We acted as an intermediary point of contact for all parties concerned allowing for improved communication flow and the independence often required in such disputes. 

 

On a separate project to the above, we have been of assistance in drafting a variety of documents including technically complex letters, reports,  public notices and points of objection to planning applications. Furthermore, offered opinions on and drafted a response to a DTI consultation paper.
