Founded in 1981 in response to a demand for more flexible software capabilities than standard off-the-shelf packages, Dataflow began to specialise in the design and development of business management software in 1984, with a particular emphasis on accounting.  dBFLEX was released and acknowledged as one of the most versatile accounting systems available at the time.

Released in 1998, dataflow was the first true 32~bit product to be released for the UK SME market and was the first UK accounting software compatible with Microsoft's SQL Server. Although based on the design of dBFLEX, dataflow was a brand new system taking advantage of all aspects of the Windows environment. This sealed our reputation as leading the way in supplying high quality, flexible and cost-effective business software.
